About Public Health Australia
Public Health Australia is a free, independent public health education project. We turn new reports, health alerts and policy changes into short videos and plain-English explainers that everyday Australians can use. We aim to be clear about what the evidence shows, what it does not show, and what you can do next.
Everything on this website is free. There are no ads, sponsors, affiliate links or products here.
Who we are
Public Health Australia is co-founded and edited by Zee Jung. Zee is a Master of Public Health candidate who reviews every video and page before it is published.
Editorial standards
How we check sources
- We start with primary sources. Where we can, we use Australian sources such as the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, and state and territory health departments.
- We check each number against the original report and note the date it was published or checked.
- We say what the data measures and what it cannot tell us. For example, a count of hospital stays is not a count of people.
- When we offer our own view or policy idea, we label it as our interpretation.
- Every video and page lists its sources so you can check them yourself.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting, illustrative visuals and voiceover. AI-generated scenes are illustrations only. They do not show real patients or real events. A person reviews every script, number and source before anything is published, and the editor is responsible for the final content.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we want to know. Message us with the page and, if possible, a link to the source. We check every report against the original evidence. If a correction is needed, we fix the page promptly and note what changed and when.
